Puss in Boots is an adventure film, but the publicity and the first act of the film would have you believe otherwise. The filmmakers are not responsible for the DreamWorks animated campaign of marketing, but may be to blame for creating the film as an action comedy before deciding to leave the jokes and moves in a movie heart of the adventure that has no risk, is dated references, short and changes character. Ironically, the technical aspects of the film are full of passion, but the story is so callous and calculated as they come.

The film begins as an action comedy.
