Puss in Boots is an adventure film, but the publicity and the first act of the film would have you believe otherwise. The filmmakers are not responsible for the DreamWorks animated campaign of marketing, but may be to blame for creating the film as an action comedy before deciding to leave the jokes and moves in a movie heart of the adventure that has no risk, is dated references, short and changes character. Ironically, the technical aspects of the film are full of passion, but the story is so callous and calculated as they come.

Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) is out for adventure and he took news of a big score at a local tavern. The hunt is on for the magic beans that will lead beans and tell goose that lays the golden eggs. The beans are now in the possession of the grotesque Jack (Billy Bob Thornton) and Jill (Amy Sedaris), but Chitika believes he can steal the magic beans. His attempts are thwarted when his Heist is interrupted by the thief Softpaws Kitty (Salma Hayek), who tries to steal beans to Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis). Puss and Humpty has a story and the film slams on the breaks, while Puss can enjoy their history. When he finishes his story and Kitty are asleep, we understand why.

The film begins as an action comedy. Opening of hunting is encouraged, Banderas still enjoys express the character and the film makes good use of the fact that Jack is a renegade, but always charming and adorable things cat chasing the light reflected back and milk. And then there's a long fight sequence between the cat dance Kitty and where the film departs from the action-adventure comedy. This film has come out of his way to throw a joke in this scene, in principle, have a chat to the background "Oh no, he did not!" Noise (this joke is used twice in the cinema and loses all effects). However, the dance sequence is not going to laugh and not the rest of the film. Do not try to make jokes (and the total audience of non-confirmed children's laughter in my theater), but sent his protagonist in an adventure.

And there is nothing wrong with that. If Puss in Boots took over as a rousing adventure film, I fully supported. But the adventure is unimaginative and by-the-numbers. Structurally and logically, there is nothing wrong with the story, but there is nothing about this is in bold. It goes exactly where you expect the pace you would expect and there is nothing on how to make a living. The obvious solution would be to give a greater role Puss, and let him bring his great power in history. But Puss in Boots pushes the title character to be part of a set, losing his greatest asset. The film pays attention almost as Humpty Dumpty and his curve is better defined as Puss'. Puss is a scene flight in movies Shrek, but it is as if the writers and directors did not know what to do with him as a safe lead and playing a different character. As a result, we have a film that is not fun, not equipped with the character that we want, but still expects us to enjoy the ride.
